Park areas Arboretum and “Khortytsia Labyrinth”

“Khortytsia Labyrinth” is located in the northwest part of the island. This is a peculiar park area, formed by a chain of cross alleys of different types of vegetation, which is reflected in their names: Oak, Maple, Tamarix, Lime, Nut, Catalp, Karagan alleys with picturesque tree and bush compositions. Valuable historical and archeological sites are located between the shady alleys. Here are also the sanctuary of the Bronze Age, the Scythian archeological monument (the height of “Kanfarka”), the probable cemetery of the Zaporozhzhia Cossacks, and the cemetery and redoubts of the Russo-Turkish War of 1735–1739. Walking in the “Labyrinth” will bring you pleasure and relaxation from staying in the silence of the Khortytsia forest and will provide the opportunity to touch the ancient island’s history.

Arboretum. The park is located in a harmonious place adjacent to the picturesque ravine Hannivka, and from its observation points, one can enjoy the panoramic views of the New Dnipro. Founded in the middle of the last century, it combined a wide variety of ornamental trees and shrubs without disturbing the harmony of the view, most favorably emphasizing architectural compositions and landscapes. The Khortytsia Arboretum is unique due to the diversity of plant species and the sophistication of their compositions. That is why it is delightful throughout all seasons.
