A STEEL TRIDENT INSTALLED ON KHORTYTSIA ISLAND
Today, on the Day of the National Coat of Arms of Ukraine, another important symbol of Ukrainian statehood and identity appeared on the island of Khortytsia. The ceremonial unveiling of the Steel Trident took place in the northern part of Khortytsia.
On February 19, 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine issued a resolution approving the State Coat of Arms of Independent Ukraine.
It is a golden Trident on a blue shield. The Small State Emblem is one of the state symbols of Ukraine, along with the Constitution, Flag, and Anthem.
The history of the Trident dates back a thousand years, beginning with Kyivan Rus. For centuries, this symbol has united Ukrainians and given them strength, embodying the connection between generations and the aspirations of the Ukrainian people for their statehood, unity, and independence. Today, it is on our banners and weapons as a symbol of invincibility and victorious struggle against the occupier.
This Small State Emblem of Ukraine on the island of Khortytsia is dedicated to all the living and fallen defenders of Ukrainian statehood, independence, sovereignty, national values, and the present and future of the nation. This event is notable for the Reserve workers because 13 of our colleagues are now at war. Sadly, we already know the names of those who will only protect us from the sky.
This event became possible thanks to the patriotic patrons “KOMPOSITSTAL”, Production and Commercial Enterprise, LLC. The “Tryzubazovstal” was made from a pre-war batch of steel produced by “AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS” and handed over to Khortytsia National Reserve.
“The history of this Tryzub is brief but impressive. And we decided that its history should continue here, on Khortytsia Island, near the ancient rocks. It is a symbolic place not only for Zaporizhzhia but for the whole of Ukraine,” says Inna Sakorska, Director of “KOMPOSITSTAL”, Production and Commercial Enterprise, LLC.
The Reserve presented Ms. Sakorska with the Ukrainian flag signed by its workers in gratitude to the team of “KOMPOSITSTAL.”
Khortytsia National Reserve is planning to continue arranging for the Steel Trident.
