Conference: “Modern Challenges of the Preservation of Ukrainian Cultural Heritage.”
The conference took place on December 9, 2025, at the Research Center of Anatolian Civilizations (Istanbul, Turkey).
Dmytro Kobaliia, the head of the Department of Protection of Historical, Archaeological, and Natural Sites at the Khortytsia National Reserve, a hydroarchaeologist, and candidate of historical sciences, participated in the conference as a special guest. In his speech, he presented Ukraine’s experience working with archaeological complexes, underwater finds, and museum collections under extraordinary challenges, including war. His presentation was an important contribution to the broader international discussion on preserving underwater historical sites in different countries.
Koç University’s Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (ANAMED) organized the conference in partnership with the Türkiye Sualtı Arkeolojisi Vakfı (TINA). The conference brought together researchers, archaeologists, and museum professionals working on the protection, research, documentation, and preservation of cultural sites worldwide.
