From August 14, 2024, the Khortytsia National Reserve offers visitors new and refreshed excursions and tourist services developed and prepared by our specialists:

The walking tour “Khortytsia unites Ukraine”

About the symbolic unifying role of Khortytsia. About different epochs in the history of the island; “Cossack Circle” and its sculptural compositions; “Taras Shevchenko Trail”; “Hill of Unity” etc. Taking pictures near the State Coat of Arms of Ukraine.

Duration – 1 hour.

Sightseeing tour of the Historical and Cultural Complex “Zaporozhzhia Sich”

About the life of the Cossack capital – Sich, Cossack life, customs, mentality and military affairs.

Duration – 25 minutes.

Walking tour “Meeting with Khortytsia-1”

An excursion to the northeastern part of Khortytsia. About the Cossack times, Dnipro rapids, sanctuaries, burial mounds, and the construction of the DniproHES dam.

Duration – 30 minutes.

Walking tour “Meeting with Khortytsia-2”

An excursion to the northeastern part of Khortytsia. About the Cossack times, legends, Dnipro rapids, sanctuaries, Taras Shevchenko’s stay on Khortytsia Island, and the construction of the DniproHES dam. The visitors will see the Black Stone, cromlechs, burial mounds, fortifications of the Cossack period, and Prince Svyatoslav’s probable place of death.

Duration – 1 hour.

“Warship of the 18th century”

About the history of Cossack navigation, the work of hydro-archeologists and restorers. The tour to the unique boats that sailed down the Dnipro, both 1500 years ago and at the beginning of the 20th century.

Duration – 30 minutes.

Walking tour “Plants in Cossack Times and Today”

About the flora characteristic of the Cossack period; legends and facts related to the island’s vegetation.

Duration – 45 minutes.

“Excursion about the consequences of Kakhovka dam destruction”

The walking tour during which the participants will see the changes that occurred after the sharp drop in the water level in the Dnipro and the resumption of free flow, learn about the consequences of restoring the river’s connection with the sea, and hear about the prospects of reviving the Velykyi Luh floodplains.

Duration – 45 minutes.

Children’s game-excursion “COSSACK ENTERTAINMENTS”

The thematic interactive game excursion for primary school children. Through folk games, entertainment, and competitions, the children will get acquainted with the history of the Cossacks.

The Khortytsia National Reserve informs that from August 14, 2024, the price of the entrance ticket to the Historical and Cultural Complex “Zaporozhzhia Sich” will change:

Ticket for adults – UAH 100,

for schoolchildren and students – UAH 50,

for privileged categories of citizens – UAH 50.
