ENHANCING THE BEAUTY OF THE COSSACK ISLAND
On November 8, soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine and students of Zaporizhzhia educational institutions planted seedlings of trees and shrubs: oak, mountain ash, Japanese spiraea and barberry in the Shevchenko Park on Khortytsia Island.
First and foremost, this is an event where the defenders of our country and children united for a common goal – to increase the beauty and take care of our future on our Ukrainian Island of Khortytsia and in the independent Ukrainian state.
The new plantations will contribute to developing and preserving the island’s biodiversity.
Khortytsia National Reserve expresses its gratitude to the Department of Sport, Family and Youth of Zaporizhzhia City Council, the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration for the vital initiative to organise the event and the National Guard of Ukraine for their assistance and support.
