KHORTYTSIA RECOVERS!

Within the framework of the project “Khortytsia Recovers” the reserve was visited by another group of servicemen undergoing treatment at the State Institution “Territorial medical association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia region”.

Khortytsia Island has long been a sacred place for Ukrainians – it is a symbol of the Cossack era and a unique natural complex. Specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with reserve specialists use the historical, cultural and natural potential of the island for psychological rehabilitation of the military.

Animal therapy is one of the important elements in the process of human psychological rehabilitation.  Hippotherapy (from the Greek word “hippos” – horse), one of the most developed methods of treatment, is based on the interaction of man and horse. Khortytsia Island is the home of the Family Horse Club, which is always happy to provide the opportunity for such rehabilitation work to take place at the club.

The Khortytsia National Reserve is grateful to all participants of the “Khortytsia Recovers” project for their cooperation.

We wish our warriors a speedy recovery!
