“KHORTYTSIA REVITALIZES”

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the new project of Khortytsia National Reserve,” titled “Khortytsia Revitalizes.” This project will review the experience of implementing the Program of the National Preserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” for the military from May 2023.  “Spiritual renewal through culture” — an inspiring mission! We are thrilled to announce that our colleagues’ initiative has received overwhelming support from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, the Ministry of Defense, the OCU, and the Service Military Chaplaincy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Our project’s subordinate goal is to provide much-needed spiritual accompaniment and emotional support to military personnel, their families, families of fallen military personnel, prisoners of war, as well as military personnel undergoing rehabilitation and treatment.

The “first swallow” and our first experience was cooperation with the State Institution “Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region. As part of the military’s social rehabilitation program, the institution appealed to the Khortytsia National Reserve with a request to ensure a program of visits to the reserve by wounded defenders.

Our specialists did everything they could to ensure our soldiers felt the spirit of the Cossacks on the island of Khortytsia. They wanted our soldiers to feel like the true descendants of the steppe knights, carrying on their work and creating our history today!

The Khortytsia National Reserve is always ready to cooperate within the framework of this project and is interested in rehabilitating military personnel. We are excited to continue working on developing and meaningfully filling this direction in the reserve’s work. The Cossack history and beauty of our island make us stronger!
