LECTURE “HISTORY OF KAMIANSKA SICH”.
KHORTYTSIA NATIONAL RESERVE INVITES YOU!
The history of the Kamianska Sich of the Zaporozhzhia Cossacks is one of the important pages reflecting the tragic and stormy events in Ukraine at the beginning of the 18th century.
What made the Cossacks look for a new place for Sich downstream the Dnipro? In what historical processes and events did the Sich Cossacks under the leadership of Kost Hordienko participate? How did the fate of this Cossack capital develop? What do we know about the internal structure of Kamianska Sich and Cossack’s life? What artifacts have survived to this day?
Serhii Surchenko, a researcher at the Khortytsia National Reserve, will talk about all this in his lecture.
The lecture will be held on October 5 (Saturday) 2024 at 11:00 in the Museum Studios “The City Beyond the Rapids” at the address: Zaporizhzhia, Tsentralnyi Boulevard, 3 (2nd floor of the “House of Shoes”).
