ON APRIL 6, 1993, THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL RESERVE ON THE ISLAND OF KHORTYTSIA IN ZAPORIZHZHIA RECEIVED NATIONAL STATUS

On this day, 32 years ago, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, by Resolution No. 254, gave the national status to the historical and cultural reserve on the island of Khortytsia and a new name – Khortytsia National Reserve.

The granting of the national status is a high state recognition of the role and importance of the history of the Zaporozhzhia Cossacks and the Khortytsia Island for the Ukrainian nation.

For more than three decades, the reserve team has been honorably and responsibly fulfilling its national mission to protect, research, and popularize the history of Zaporizhzhia, develop Ukrainian culture, and strengthen statehood.
Many more achievements lie ahead!
