ON MAY 16, A DEEPLY SYMBOLIC EVENT TOOK PLACE ON THE ISLAND OF KHORTYTSIA – THE COMPLETION OF AN EMBROIDERED AMULET FOR UKRAINIAN SOLDIERS Embroidered talisman for the defenders of Ukraine
On May 16, a deeply symbolic event took place on the island of Khortytsia – the completion of an embroidered talisman for Ukrainian soldiers.
Applying the last stitches of embroidery resembled a sacred one because it was filled with incredible faith in our soldiers and our Victory. It was as if the craftswomen “stitched” the Cossack strength and courage of our ancestors and their love for the defenders of Ukraine into the shirt with every thread.
â €And the children completed the job. They attached ribbons with their dreams and wishes for the soldiers to the shirt. The young athletes took this embroidered shirt from the Cossack capital – Sich, to the center of Zaporizhzhia, where it was solemnly handed over to the military, who are destroying the enemy in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
The deputy head of the Zaporizhzhia regional state administration, Mykhailo Semikin, noted that the vyshyvanka is our armor, a talisman for the military, doctors, and volunteers.
