PRESERVATION EXPERTS EXAMINE THE STATE OF MUSEUM OBJECTS

A group of employees from the National Scientific Research Restoration Center of Ukraine arrived at the Khortytsia National Reserve to assess the condition of the museum objects and plan future restoration projects.

The group included high-class restorers specializing in “painting”, “graphics”, “furniture”, “ethnographic objects made of wood”, “glass”, “ceramics”, “metal”, “fabrics”.

This preservation “landing” is crucial for the reserve. Although our museum collections include thousands of artifacts and we have excellent, professional restorers, the reserve lacks the full range of experts to conduct relevant research and work with various materials.

Together with restorers from the reserve, restorers from the National Scientific Research Restoration Center of Ukraine will spend three days identifying museum objects that require urgent conservation and restoration measures. They will also perform complex restorations that can be carried out at their center.

Exchanging experience between the center’s specialists and the reserve’s specialists during this process is extremely important.
