Representatives of Zaporizhzhia СПАС (Spas) federation on Khortytsia
Zaporizhzhia students of the All-Ukrainian Federation “Спас,” together with their mentors, spent another lesson day on the Cossack island of Khortytsia. In-depth knowledge of the history of the Zaporozhzhia Cossacks and their traditions is an essential component of national-patriotic youth education.
This time, specialists from the Khortytsia National Reserve revealed a page of history about Cossack shipbuilding to the students of “Спас”. They saw a unique collection of ancient ships raised from the depths of the Dnipro River by underwater archaeologists.
After the tour, the young athletes took a walking tour of the island to gain a deeper understanding of this sacred land for every Ukrainian and strengthen their sense of camaraderie.
