Sports prostheses for Ukrainian veterans
On April 29, 2025, the U+ System Rehabilitation Center, together with the Charity Fund “Zaporizhzhia Heart” and the Khortytsia National Reserve, organized the event in the historical and cultural complex “Zaporozhzhia Sich” on the Khortytsia Island to install modern sports prostheses for veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war who lost limbs as a result of hostilities.
Khortytsia Island is a symbol of national strength and glory, and today’s defenders are true Cossack heirs who continue their struggle with dignity. This was a key factor for the organizers when choosing the venue.
The veterans received the “Running Blade” running prostheses and “Forever Foot” universal prostheses from the Danish company Levitate.
After the prostheses were fitted and individually adjusted, the veterans tested their new abilities in historical master classes, including saber, whip, and archery.
The latest technologies, combined with the Cossack spirit and kind hearts, work wonders!
