THE SECOND STAGE OF ORAL IMMUNIZATION OF WILD CARNIVORES AGAINST RABIES USING DECOMPOSING BAITS WITH VACCINE WAS CARRIED OUT IN THE KHORTYTSIA NATIONAL RESERVE.

The territory of Khortytsia Island is home to wild carnivores such as the common fox, raccoon dog, badger, and some other wild animals.

The working team and the Main Department of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Zaporizhzhia region distributed the oral vaccine to control the implementation of the anti-epizootic measures.

Following the methodical recommendations for distributing the vaccine at the rate of at least 25 bait doses per 1 km2, the baits are distributed evenly in the defined territory. This measure aims to ensure a stable anti-epizootic situation regarding rabies in wild fauna on the territory of Khortytsia Island.

Dear citizens!

If you find bait, do not take it with your hands or move it!

The bait is in small briquettes the size of a matchbox with the smell of meat and bone meal. In the centre is a jelly-like capsule containing a vaccine against rabies.

The bait is safe for humans and the environment!
