TO VISITORS OF THE KHORTYTSIA NATIONAL RESERVE
The island of Khortytsia and its coast, floodplain, and other areas are under state protection. The irresponsible actions of citizens cause additional harm to nature, which is already suffering from technogenic environmental disasters. Indifference destroys the island’s nature.
We remind all visitors of the Khortytsia National Reserve that, according to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Defense Council’s decision, civilians are prohibited from staying in areas with forest plantations, coastal strips, and shoals along Khortytsia Island for the duration of martial law. Only the northeastern part of the island is open to the public: the area around the tourist facilities: “Cossack Circle,” “Unity Hill,” and the Historical and Cultural Complex “Zaporozhian Sich.”
Rules for visiting the protected area prohibit the following: driving cars or other vehicles (except bicycles) on unpaved roads; parking cars in green areas; disturbing visitors’ or animals’ peace with loud sounds or music; setting up tents; lighting bonfires or using an open fire in the nature reserve; collecting plants; scaring, catching, or hunting animals; and fishing.
Let’s protect Khortytsia Island for Ukraine and its future!
