UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, MATHIAS SCHMALE, VISITED KHORTYTSYA ISLAND
As part of a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Matthias Schmale and members of the delegation visited the Khortytsia National Reserve.
Mr. Matthias Schmale met with the reserve management and got acquainted with the work of the national institution, in particular, with the constructive cooperation with UNESCO and the assistance it provided.
During the tour of the historical and cultural complex “Zaporozhzhia Sich,” our guests learned about the unique role of the Zaporozhzhia Cossacks in the history of Ukraine and the sacred significance of the Khortytsia Island.
