Veterans of the russian-Ukrainian War helped the Khortytsia National Reserve with cleaning and landscaping.
The public organization PATRIOTS 1556 (Zaporizhzhia) held another event on Khortytsia Island. This time, the veterans helped clean and landscape the area around a unique archaeological monument: a sanctuary near the Karakayka ravine dating back to the Bronze Age (3rd–2nd millennium BCE) and the Scythian era (7th–4th century BCE). Thanks to the efforts and funding of the veteran community, information banners near the sanctuary and at other locations on the island were updated.
Participants combined caring for the environment with providing practical assistance to the reserve, learning about Ukrainian history, guided by a sense of involvement and responsibility in preserving the nation’s historical and cultural heritage.
The Khortytsia National Reserve thanks the NGO “PATRIOTS 1556” for their help! By preserving our national treasures together, we strengthen our national spirit and establish a foundation for future generations.
